In a lot of different blog posts we’ve talked about all sorts of denim outfit ideas, including boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, and denim shorts. Cuffed jeans have come up a lot in all of these ideas, but we haven’t focused on talking about how to tie jeans and how to style them just yet. In this blog post, I’m not only going to talk about cuffing jeans, I’m going to share with you some of the best cuffed jeans outfit ideas that can help you look stylish and casual.
How to tie jeans
Cuffing jeans is very easy. While you can actually do it any way you want, there are two main methods. In this case, a picture is worth a thousand words. In the picture above, you can see that the two types of cuffed jeans are known as “Double Roll” and “Deep Cuff”.
The double role is the most popular way to tie jeans. It’s called a double roll because you typically don’t roll it more than twice, or the jeans can look chunky. It looks great for most situations whether you are wearing sneakers, boots, or heels. Keep the distance between your shoes and the bottom of your jeans about 1 to 2 inches.
The deep cuff means a single roll larger than 3 inches. Usually it just goes well with boots. Actually, it rarely looks good unless you have nice long legs. If you are one of the lucky people who can make it, a pair of deep cuffed jeans and boots can make you look stylish and unique.
So let’s stick with the dual role most of the time and only try the deep cuff if you’re gifted with long legs. Now let’s jump straight into the list of awesome outfit ideas for jeans with cuffs.
Cuffed boyfriend jeans with t-shirt and sneakers
Team a simple t-shirt and white trainers with ripped boyfriend jeans. You just double-roll the jeans to reveal about an inch of your legs. That little space between your jeans and the sneakers actually makes you look taller.
Skinny jeans with deep cuffs and boots
Okay, even though I said the deep cuffed denim outfit is very difficult to take off, I’ll still give you an example of how to wear it. If you have beautiful long and slim legs, all you have to do is tie your skinny jeans low and combine them with boots. As you can see in the picture above, the lady still seems to look shorter with this outfit, although she already has quite long legs. So be careful with this idea and be your own judge.
Wear cuffed boyfriend jeans with a leather jacket and heel
One of the most stylish and chic ways to wear boyfriend jeans with cuffs is to pair it with an Av-neck t-shirt, black leather jacket and heels. This is definitely one of my favorite outfit ideas on the list.
Baggy jeans with half cuffs and T-shirt with cuffs
In combination with a t-shirt with a cuff and loosely rolled (also known as half-cuff) baggy jeans, you can create stylish casual wear. It’s fun to try this slightly rebellious look from time to time.
Denim overalls with cuffs
Denim overalls usually make you look cute but slightly chunky. To fix this, all you have to do is double-roll your jumpsuit to make your legs look longer. Your overall share will be more balanced.
Wear cuffed boyfriend jeans with a button down blouse
Now that we’ve talked about some outfit ideas that use t-shirts as a top, let’s talk about how to style a white button-down blouse. You can combine it with boyfriend jeans and flats with cuffs. Wear skinny jeans with a long cardigan and boots
In another blog post, I talked about some of the best ideas for long sleeveless cardigans. This time, I’m going to share with you how a long sleeve, longline cardigan can spice up your outfit. Just pair it with a white top, skinny jeans with cuffs and boots for a sleek and stylish look.
Denim shorts with cuffs and tank top
For a refreshing summer look, pair a tank top with low jean shorts with cuffs and white trainers. This is an especially good idea for those of you who have tattoos on your hip or thigh to show them off subtly. A crop top with high-necked shorts with cuffs is also a good combination for those of you who don’t have the perfect waist.
White crop top with cuffed jeans
For fans of minimal outfits, this is the idea for you. Just pair a white crop top with boyfriend jeans with cuffs and heeled sandals. This is a nice casual outfit that is very easy to take off.
Off the shoulder blouse with cuffed jeans
For those of you who want to look refreshing and happy but don’t want to wear shorts in the summer, here is a great outfit idea for you. Wear an off-the-shoulder blouse with cuffed jeans and, most importantly, a pair of summer-style flat shoes, such as the flower flat shoes in the picture above. While other people are showing off their long legs, you can outshine them by showing off your lovely shoulders and summery look.
Double rolled jeans, t-shirt & tie boyfriend shirt around the waist
Don’t underestimate how a boyfriend shirt tied around your waist can affect your outfit. Pairing this with the t-shirt and cuff boyfriend jeans combo can add a lot of character to your overall look.
The next time you wear your jeans, look in the mirror and try to see if the cuffing of the jeans adds style or improves the balance of your outfit.
